Void, with listed exceptions
Non-compete law in Wyoming
For contracts entered into on or after July 1, 2025, Wyoming voids any covenant not to compete that restricts a person's right to receive compensation for skilled or unskilled labor, except covenants in a sale of a business or its assets, covenants to the extent they protect trade secrets, a sliding-scale recovery of relocation, education and training costs, and covenants with executive and management personnel and their professional staff. A separate subsection voids physician-to-physician noncompetes. Earlier contracts are untouched.

Exceptions and special rules
- Sale of a business: the statute allows a non-compete given by a seller.
- Covenant contained in a contract for the purchase and sale of a business or the assets of a business (W.S. 1-23-108(a)(i))
- Covenant not to compete to the extent it provides for protection of trade secrets as defined by W.S. 6-3-501(a)(xi) ((a)(ii))
- Recovery of relocation, education and training expense: up to 100% if the employee served under 2 years, up to 66% for 2 to under 3 years, up to 33% for 3 to under 4 years ((a)(iii)); nothing is stated for 4 years or more
- Executive and management personnel and officers and employees who constitute professional staff to executive and management personnel ((a)(iv)); § 1-23-108 does not define these terms
- Physician. A covenant not to compete in an employment, partnership or corporate agreement between physicians that restricts the right to practice medicine (W.S. 33-26-102(a)(xi)) after termination of the employment, partnership or corporate affiliation is void; all other enforceable provisions of the agreement stay enforceable. After termination or voiding, the physician may disclose continuing practice and new contact information to a patient with a rare disorder (as defined by the national organization for rare disorders or successor) whom the physician treated before termination, without liability to either party to the prior agreement. (W.S. 1-23-108(b)-(c))
Non-solicitation clauses
Not mentioned in the text. The ban covers a 'covenant not to compete that restricts the right of any person to receive compensation for performance of skilled or unskilled labor'; whether a customer or employee non-solicit is within that wording is not answered by the statute.
Contracts naming another state's law
None in § 1-23-108 (no choice-of-law or forum rule).
Remedies
No remedy stated. The section's caption includes 'unlawful intimidation', but the enacted text contains no subsection on it.
Which agreements it covers
Applies to contracts entered into on and after 2025-07-01; does not alter, amend or impair any contract entered into before 2025-07-01 (2025 Enrolled Act 87, section 2).
