About

What Clauseworthy is, and is not.

Clauseworthy is a set of free tools for the documents a startup runs on: draft an NDA from a public standard, check what you are sent against one, model your SAFEs and founder vesting, and read your state's non-compete statute.

What it draws on

Public standards and primary law, each named and linked where it is used: the Common Paper Mutual NDA (CC BY 4.0), Y Combinator's post-money SAFE (linked, never reproduced), state statutes and federal notices, and market figures from Common Paper and Carta with their dates.

Common Paper describes its Mutual NDA as created by a committee of 40+ attorneys. Common Paper Mutual NDA, Version 1.0

What it is not

Clauseworthy is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Using it forms no attorney–client relationship. It does not know your situation, and it says so when a question needs someone who does. No lawyer works on Clauseworthy, and no page claims otherwise.

What happens to your documents

They stay in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded. If you save a draft or a report to your desk, it is written to this browser's local storage and nowhere else. The privacy page lists every named event the site counts.
